'82 Yamaha QT 50 runs poor at full throttle?

Hi,
Just got an '82 QT and it looks and runs great! But, when you attempt to go full speed (Anything over about 26mph) it starts to cut out until it slows down and the rpm's aren't as high then it picks right up again. The thing starts first kick and idles prefectly. Any advise?
