............AFTER I had typed painstakingly out, a nice all inclusive REMEDY to try........I get this STUPID MicroSoft message telling me they have just installed a new version and want me to try it out, but I am going to lose my INFO.
Well.............knowin' there's a MS virus out there,I declined, but STILL lost my info. to you.
Here goes again! In a nutshell..........your 2-stroke oil cannot be weed-wacker oil...so saith the WHIZ! LOL!
I use Pennzoil Marine synthetic Blend from Wal-Mart sporting goods. It's great for mopeds, and only 9.96/gal.
Anyway use an oil approved for 4-wheelers or MCs that are 2-stroke. Okay?
Then the slowness may be caused by excessive carbon at the exhaust port and INSIDE the muffler. Decarbonize these.
Then check your points if it has them and set them to .015". Inches not millimeters.Ha!
Always replace that spark plug too.
If THIS all doesn't do it, you probably have a gummy or dirty carb. Clean all passages and the main jet with carb cleaner spray or blow compressed air thru them.
Make sure the throttle is pulling open all the way by observing the slide goes all the way up in the carb.
I'm gonna post this now, beforew that trouble-making MS message appears and erases my info. again?
The 505 is a great engine............make sure it isn't injecting oil from a tank unbeknownst to you. Then you adding extra would be too much oil. Go for a 4 oz.oil per gallon ratio. Okay? don-ohio (:^)
