Belt drive Yes

5000 miles No problem

keep these little 2-strokes filled up with the right oil and they run forever

my main ride project urban has the orignal belt drive tranny and a few mods, bore kit, exhaust, variator weights, bigger mainjet, so forth

project 'lady' has a transplanted engine..

it has an engine from an 81-82 ? NC50 this tranny has the 2-speed chain drive.

I turned the odometer overon my first urban, beforeit was retired after a collision with a cager who ran a red light while i was making a left turn,

imagine getting out of that without a stay in the hospital.

at the last moment he zigged and i zagged, his car caught my front wheel flipped me and the bike.

i ended up in the street with the urban on top of me and his car 60ft away at the curb.

i could have been permenatly out of the picture but i walked away from it..

so occasionally i take a step back say something about safety

that bike had over 12000 miles on it.
