78 has Tap Starter ( windup )

this is not a kicker,

you step down on the pedal 4 or 5 times
it winds the main spring ( like a very big clock spring)
you squeeze the left brake handle and the spring spins the engine.

yes the 81 has a kick starter and return spring.

if you KICK a 78 you are going to break it.
