how do i disconnect brake cable?

Hi, today I took apart my 78 honda express to repaint it. I decided at the last minute to paint it silver. I bought all dupli-color paint, and put the priimer on some of the bike tonight, and will finish up tommorow, as soon as I can get the engine off. I figured out an easy way to disconnect the frame from the engine, it’s only 2 big bolts, which I unscrewed, and the engine came right off, but it’s still connected because of the brake wire. I cant figure out how to disconnect the brake wire, so until I do, Only the fenders and engine covers will remain painted lol. Please…anyone who has an express, tell me how to disconect the rear brake cable. Thanks, Ross.
