in the past 7 years, i havve replaced 2 that i can think of..

i have bought bikes, that weremissing the coil,

and bikes with messed up wiring..

but only 2 had bad coils

.
maybe your mechanic is right..

but , i would double check everything, i suggested beforei spent my money on another coil...

look if you can get the sr coil for $10 buy it.. but i wouldn't spend for a new one , unless i was absolutely sure.. of the problem.. but's me.
