check the hoses at the tank/valve

sounds like

A: they are hooked up backwards, fuel going into the vaccum line

B: the vaccum operated fuel valve is bad, and gas is going into the vaccum line

the bottom nipple is where the vaccum line goes..
No gas should come out of this nipple

the side nipple is where the fuel line to the carb goes
gas comes out here when vaccum is put on the bottom nipple
