I am having the exact same problem. Just bought two 1982 Urban Express mopeds. One was running...one not. For the one not running, I've cleaned the carb, adjusted the throttle and air screws, and gotten it to start and run. If I am on a straight away or going down an incline, runs pretty good (not great). However, when I give it alot of gas...bogs down tremendously and it won't climb hills. I've replaced the gas and checked the filters...was thinking the CDI unit or choke box next. I will try to bypass the bystarter - but would like to hear if you've discovered another trick.
