I posted this over at Mopedarmy, but figured I should try here as well.
I’m looking to swap the engine from an Express SR (NX50) to my Honda Express (NC50). This would give me a multitude of improvements, such as 12v electrical system, electric starter, etc. But most importantly it would give me a Variator transmission instead of the blasted single speed automatic of my bike.
However, the Express SR has a 10” back wheel while the Express is 14.4”.
This would ruin my acceleration, even with the added power.
So I ask those who know more then me, Is there a simple method for modifying the Variator’s ratios or timing to compensate for the larger wheel?
