Engine Knock

by pistol (no login)

Hey Guys, Just recently installes an Athena 70cc on my NU50 and got a question. The engine made a knocking noise and so i took the cylinder apart and noticed that the piston had a circular "ring" at just about the location that it would be hitting the stock 50cc head. Is it possible that the travel of the piston is that high? I tried adding 2 head gaskets to see if the noise would go away but no luck. Any ideas? Also how much play is the piston supposed to have on the rod? Should it be stiff or be able to move slighly left and right?
