And thanks for your reply. I will try the speaker wire trick, though I'm not sure that the wire will be strong enough to make its way through the hole and whatever is blocking the hole (varnish I assume). I've tried and tried using a wire from a wire brush, but either that varnish is darn hard or the jet in that tube is actually smaller than the wire from the wire brush, which would make it awfully small.

So tell me, does the tube go straight through, and should I see a wire coming right out the other end once it's through? Did you ever try anything like a wire from a brush? And did you ever soak the carb in parts cleaner?

You mentioned that someone said tht tube is removeable. I did try to remove mine but I was getting to the point of having to squeeze too hard on the tube so I gave it up. It looks like it's pressed in...I wouldn't try removing it unless I were sure a new one would fit back into that hole.
