RE: Keihin Carb. Question

Andrew,

I have not found the tube or the jet to be removeable.

As for the wire, I was able to finally (after 10 minutes or more) fish the wire through the hole. I had soaked the part in carb cleaner for 1 hour or so. I was too impatient to wait overnight.

The jet is part way down the tube. This makes it hard to force the wire through the hole as you mentioned. I believe I used two speaker wires twisted together to force it through. Using a single wire will make it easier to fish the wire through, but bends a lot easier. That is why I switched to using two wires.

You can see the wire poke through at both ends. I used about 10 inch long strand of speaker wire so that once it went through, I was able to slide the carb back and forth on the wire to "floss" it like flossing your teeth. I did continually cut a small section of the wire off as it was too bent to pass through the jet.

I would soak the carb overnight and use compressed air to try to blow the junk out before trying the wire thing.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
