I recently aquired a 81 express and its been sitting for 13 years I cleaned the carbs put it together and it idles fine but when I accelerate it bogs out and the air screw is useless. I put a piece of cardboard in front of the intake for the carb and it is getting sprayed with fuel. If I hold the piece close enough to the port it vibrates with the cycle of the engine and rpms incease with some playing around. I have not clean out the exhaust.Seeing how I am this far I want to replace my reeds, does anyone have any other suggestion to this problem and where can I get new reeds. They look good but I was told that they might not be stiff enough to snap back and allow fuel to spit out the carb. The bike has over 7,000 miles on it.My grandpa put on alot of miles.
