I think their tripwire is that they let their heritage play a big role in their online demeanor, including having an occasional chip on shoulder. I can't change something that happened 70 years ago, and yes, we should never forget what happened.
Heritage is great and I am all for being proud of it, but should be articulated much more as a background item vs. the forefront on public forae.
