who ever wrote that 1st round bull**** is a complete idiot. except for the first 3 picks i cant see that order happeningat all. And i can almost garentee that at least 8 of those kids will notget drafted first round ..... you watch !!
St. Mike's, Brampton, Mississauga average about 1,100 a game paid and you can't get a stitch of local coverage on your team.
Up north you get anywhere 2,500-4,500 people per game (depending on the night), are embraced by the community and are local celebrities for 3-4 years. A lot more tradition than in the GTA in Sudbury and the Soo.
Travel is a little tougher than other teams, but your schedule has you basically at home one weekend, on the road the next. Schedule is geographically slanted so 50% or more of your games are played within your division.
Northern Ontario was fine for Gretzky, Hartsburg, Peca, etc. - shouldn't it be fine for your kid?
If you kid was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in two years, would you report because its a five hour flight away?
nemis should not be ranked 5th overall....in junior high school hockey he sucks did nothing at all 3 points he got im pretty sure, he has skill but should be nowhere near the first 3 rounds of the draft let alone the top 5 overall
I don't know why anyone feels they are qualified to make a first round selection for the OHL teams but what the hell if you got nothing better to do?? BTW who is Beauchamp-Lalande anyways??
the guy who made the list is probably the same guy who said kids that weren't playing AAA in minor bantam/bantam weren't going anywhere. see how wrong these people are?
That list as actually not too far off. Teams draft what they need more than they draft where the kid is ranked. Sarnia, for example, needs a offensive forward, so they will likely draft Stamkos or possibly Hodgson.
9:43 suffer from severe GTHL-itis, not curable but I think you can get shots to stop it from spreading, ah, that would be shots to the head by the way.
I'm tellin you right now, I went out to a couple of sullivans games, probably the best break out pass I've seen from a 16 year old this year. He was bothered with injury for a good part of the year but battled back and finds himself ranked top 2 rounds. He's definatly going first round and most definatly the 1st D from the ODMHA. He's quick, agile, and just has such a good hockey sense. At 6'3 hes solid.
Del Zotto just gets more publicity because hes from Toronto. I'm telling you Sullivan is 1st round material, In the 3 games I saw Sullivan made 3 passes from behind his net to the otehr blue line for assists...
sure sullivan is good and does have 1st round material on him, but delzotto is still the best of the bes, no question sullivan is good, but delzotto is great...and its a battle between lalonde and sullivan for first d in the odmha taken, but i liked lalonde more at forward, hes a very slick forward
definatly delzotto pietrangelo cuma sullivan maybe gaulton? i find lalonde really dirty player and who knows whther hes playing forward or D. im going with those top 4
Gaulton is so slow! mind you he does have a canyon! can probably snipe from anywhere on the blueline but he's lacking the speed, we'll see I guess... no need for name calling. relax bud
You are probably trying to get someone started on a rant with the he's too slow comment. That is an extremely laughable statement. Don't fall for the bait grandpa.
lalonde and nesbitt are the only kids from odmha rated AA by central scouting......sullivan is good still he will probably be the 3rd pick from odmha unless some team is in love with him, probably second round.
That is roughly how it is. But teams can have different draft boards and players aren't necessarily picked in the order that central scouting has them ranked.
Plus there are 40 aa ranked players by central scouting and 14 of them american. A lot of them have already committed to colleges or the US NTDP program.
So that means that there are going to be some players who are rated A by central scouting going in the top 2 rounds.
Maybe. Maybe not. That will be up to Mr. Sullivan. Nothing that anyone says here will have the slightest impact on his future. Good luck to him. I wish him well.
Gaulton already skates like a pro,
This kid is a sure fire NHL'er.He will be a top 5 pick this spring, he will play in the "O" next season, he will be a high NHL pick as soon as he is eligible.
The fact that he is not Italian makes him even more appealing to the scouts, no insane parents to deal with.
Good luck to all
This posting shows no real understanding of the process

All players can do is prepare for the next level. The O is big step, after that nobody knows what lies ahead.
Confidence, health issues, living away from home with distractions, determination. If NHL teams could peg kids at 15 they would. They can't, they don't and they won't. Let the kids play and develop.
HeyWanker, The process is; If you have the talent and couple that talent with hard work you will be rewarded, all the hard work in the world won't mean a thing without the talent.Gaulton is a Blue chip prospect, get back to us in a couple years and see where his ranking is compared to the Stamkos'of the hockey world.
DelZotto, and Gaulton are as close to can't miss as you can get.
And His last name ends in a consonant, an added bonus.
Since when does one's ethnic background have to do with hockey talent. There are all kinds of "crazy" parents out there, italian and otherwise. You make no sense whatsoever....get a life!
