Do you know why they are holding back the Permission to skate? It is not a release.

a permission to skate is an acknowledgment that the team would be prepared to release the player should a deal or trade be available, once you have the permission to skate form your current team would almost always be obliged to release you if it went to arbitration, the tryouts going on right now there are very few kids able to skate for other clubs,if you ask me its just another B.S.ploy by the clubs to fill there rosters and there pockets.

These Coaches and General Managers are bunch of clowns. The GTHL is not the OHL or NHL. Let the kids skate with other clubs. This tactic is making a farce of the entire tryout process for those kids who want to play Midget next year.

I agree, Some kids have played the same loop faithfully for 8 years or more; they just want a change of scenery; This NO permission will force them to look for a Jr. A Team 9 (good or bad )or quit for a year till their time runs out; Someone should create an alstar tourney team , for the kids that can't get a release from their home leaque; Like they do in Ottawa; the boys travel I know 4 Midget AAA kids that would be the first in that line.
