Anthony Nigro went pretty high. Is he related to Frank Nigro whom was drafted by the Toronto Maple leafs and played for Richmond Hill Rams in the 70's?

Clearly that is wrong....
If any one of the 20 teams agreed with you, he would have been.

Anyhow, it doesn't matter where you are drafted.... each draft choice get to go to training camp...

What are the chances of getting drafted the next year, if you don't get drafted your first Midget Minor year and your name was on the priority selection?

I noticed this year there were two players that were born in 87 and 89 on the priority selection and the rest were 90's.

Your right ... I did answer my own question.

How do you think these 89,88,87's got drafted? Just by performing better the next year? And/or were any of these 89,88,87's on the priority selection the years before this years?

Late draftees (ie. 89, 88s in this years draft)

May 11 2006, 6:40 PM

Just guessing, but possible scenario include:

1) went from AA in their first draft year to AAA this last year and got noticed

2) in AAA before, always with solid skills but had a growth spurt and now 5'11" or taller, turning heads their way

3) changes teams and began getting promoted heavily by new coaching staff/organization

4) thinsg just 'clicked' for them and they developed a new work ethis and skills greatly improved

5) papa began paying the $$ to get boy noticed, or developed connections for same

Either way, bottom line:
"If at first you don't succeed, ... KEEP BUSTIN' YOUR ASSES BOYS, it's never too late"
