As it is past That magical date of May 31 does that mean anyone in the Lake Ontario Region who has not received a registered letter and offered a spot on next years team is now a Free Agent,if they request a release or not. Anybody who knows the rules can you clarify this.

okay what happens if the centre does not have tryouts untill August. If you request a release after May 31 and the tryouts are in August, do they have to offer you a card when you request a release say in June or can they FORCE you to wait untill the tryouts in August.

It doesn't matter when the tryouts are held. If you did not receive your registered mail by May 31, you are free to go. If you did receive your registered mail, you are not. Simple.

What do you mean by "received your registered mail"? If the organization sent out a card but you did not get it, are you still free to go?

Re: Free

Please read the very first post; it tells you everything you need to know. In order to retain their rights to a player for the following season, teams must send out a letter advising you that they are offering you a spot, by registered mail. Regular mail does not qualify because everyone could simply say they did not receive the notification. The registered mail must be postmarked by May 31st. Because it is registered, it satisfies the requirements of the written rules (kindly supplied by the first poster). If you have not received such mail by the middle of June (including a note from the Post Office that advises of attempted delivery of registered mail), you are free to go. Depending on the speed of your local postal delivery service, it sometimes takes a week to ten days to receive this mail.

So this means everyone on the A-P team 89s AND90s are free right now. Does this mean they screwed up.

It's only June 6th right now. Give it a few more days. If you don't get anything by the middle of the month, you should be free. Maybe they screwed up, maybe they didn't. You probably should call the club GM/President directly. They are normally straight up about their intentions.

The intentions are no permission to skate and no releases for AAA until after tryouts in August.

Ajax and Pickering are part of the LOR. Plain and simple, they screwed up. Or, alternatively, they don't care because they feel they have enough players in the Midget age brackets (89 ana 90) to fill their team.

Any A/P Raider (1989/90) who really wants out should contact the Raider Rep, releases must be given out because they misinterpeted the LOR rules. Finally OMHA and OHF stepping up to their obligations and own rules and making the right decision. If I were a Raider I would take advantage of the situation while you can, they won't make the same mistake twice.

If you want out there will be no problem;there are no
players that will affect this team by leaving.Every
wish will be granted, but beware what you wish for.

Typical A/P mentality, either coming from one of the coaches, deciple Pickering parents or from the executive. They screwed up big time and they know it, yes there is not many options for many of the players but if getting your ass kicked game in/out and not learning anything in the process is your cup of tea go for it. Midget tryouts next year, in the spring.

I think they can screw up 2 years in a row,i mean give a coach the team for 7 out of 9 years and not expect trouble, just plain stupid.

Once again all these disgruntled parents and still
continue begging the coach for a spot on the team;why
do i say this,no one asking for permission to skate. The forms are waiting and will be granted;see
you in august.

Re: Free

You must be one of the coaches or in the executive, so could you let us know how many players either 89's or 90's have asked for a release or PTS's. Your attitude towards these players(as stated in above posts) is typical of OMHA attitudes. You don't think highly of these players and if they are that bad then I guess they would be begging the coach to play just to say the played Midget AAA. But by the way you come across should send anyone with half a brain to get away from this team and organization while they can.

Ah, but the difference is that they think it is better. According to all, the GTHL is the PROMISED LAND! Just listen to them.
