Here is an interesting fact or maybe not!
Of the 14 players listed under the association of the GTHL only 4 actually reside within the GTHL boundry.
Trivino from Toronto
MacEachern from Mississauga
Nigro from Vaughan
Franchini from Vaughan
Cundari from Vaughan
The other 10 players listed all live in OMHA centres. |

Are you sugesting Della Rovera should not advance? I believe he was a first round draft pick |

Thank you and congatulations to those players that made it this far and good luck in the future. Looking forward to watching the games in the fall.

He's still U-17 though; is there a stipulation which states you can only play on the team once? Does anyone know for sure or is that a guess? |

For all Team Ontario and Team Canada programs, JT is considered a "1989" due to his early eligibility determined last year.
It will be interesting if the NHL changes it's rule as well.
Oddly enough, most of the 1990's who just got picked into the OHL draft this year; are eligible to be NHL Draft picks in 2008 - they year BEFORE Tavares is eligible in '2009!
(Tavares has a late 1990 birthdate, pushing him into the 2009 NHL Entry Draft)
Stay tuned for developments on this front as the 2008 NHL Draft approaches - you just may see the NHL "alter" the rule for Tavares as well.

He is born on September 20th, so he appeal to the NHL would ask for "five days" of relief of the NHL regulation, however, he'd probably not be allowed to take the ice in an NHL camp or game until he turned 18 on Sept. 20th, 2008.
The NHL rule where players born after Sep. 15th is in place to keep "minors" under the age of 18 out of pro camps.
I'm sure Johnny's lawyers are working on that "5-Day Appeal" to NHL powers! |
