GTHL talking tough, just proving how retarded our hockey kingpins are.

Tough ****.

Most kids will be entering as a minimum their Midget year after playing in this league. Does the GTHL really think we care what restrictions they impose. OMHA LOR teams may be an option for minor hockey, University hockey, Tier II, Jr. B, or even the mens leagues.

Poor GTHL & their lost development fee revenues.

the GTHL "dynasty" is finally over, the ability for parents and kids to decide where and who to play for is finally here thankfully, instead of being held hostage and hearded somewhere you do not want to be,which probably accounts for about 30% of all the kids in the GTHL,you now have a viable option, the monopoly is over.
ask yourself this question, why are hockey canada, oha,& GTHL placing sanctions on this league???
are they protecting you or are they protecting your revenue!!!diversity and competition are good things,it keeps things honest(yeah i know,as honest as minor hockey gets)the gthl doesnt like the competition, it means they may have to offer you value for your dollar, which has been sorely lacking in the GTHL for sometime,if your in the bottom 4 teams of the loop you know exactly what im talking about,so to sum up this league is good for the people staying in the GTHL as you may see more value for money,(lets all hope)and good for the people who join the outlaws GMHL...(kinda has a ring to it!) because its the alternative thats been needed for a very long time,i feel a bit of a rebel really but in a good kind of way, good luck to all in there decision making.

the gmhl won't last a season...

outlaw leagues never do

rhetoric is wonderful - but practicality is something else - this is only a place where people who have nowhere else to go end up

It won't last a season.Stupid is as stupid does. If you're scared of the new league please don't go, there are many good players that want another place to play other than where those that act as sheep go! Bahhh!

The Metro Junior A League not only survived, some would say it became better than provincial, and that's why provincial merged with them, and why lots of those teams are still around. thats the fact

It will not last unless. Junior hockey is a money losing proposition. Unless you want to throw money down the drain it will not survive.

I say BRAVO to anyone who stands up to the almighty GTHL. They have monopolized the game of hockey in this province for way to long. What happened to the love of the game and teaching our kids a respected sport that would give them some skills/integrity/respect/and goals for the future. It somewhere became clouded, misguided and flawed. It became a game of political manouvering, money, power and down right blaighten dis reguard for the poor kids on the ice trying to have fun. It used to be about the kids and fun. I am a true testament to that as a parent. Take my word for it and a little advice. RELAX/CHILL/ENJOY/SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR PHONE CALLS. If your child has it he or she has it. Don't play there game because remember if your still here in the GTA 15-20 years from now....Your kids will be asking you to help fund the ever inflating budgets of these overpriced leasure activities for your grandkids.

Re: Beware !!!!!!!!

There is still freedom. Feel free to go to this other league, heck feel encouraged, just understand that if you come back and knock on that GTHL door, tail between your legs, you'll be left out in the cold with a harsh, but well deserved door slam and the words "I told you so."

Problem is that you people want to go and have the freedom to try this other league, but still have the safety net of the GTHL. It does not work that way. YOu remind me of teh demands of certain members of the best country in the world who want to have their own country, but still want a cut of national programs such as health care and old age pensions.

You can not have your cake and eat it too.

hey buddy, the world of hockey doesnt revolve around the GTHL get your head out your A.S.S.and understand we pay for the kids to play therefore we do have a say, sanction all you want,it wont stop this league or any other league for that matter,it just makes you all look foolish at GTHL HQ,find something positive to do instead of trying to bully around the new league, god knows there are alot of things lacking in the mighty GTHL.

It is just amazing how our free country is slowly but surely becoming a dictatorship. There are a few not too bright bulbs posting on here. If anyone wants to start another league then so be it. The GTHL and its moron leader do not seem to understand this. To them it’s all about money not the kids. Charging money for the kids to get in to their own games is complete madness (although we have become accustomed to it) and it doesn’t stop there. When will the madness stop? I’m surprised that the GTHL has not opened their own equipment stores in all the arenas where all players MUST buy their hockey equipment or be suspended. This is basically the road we are headed down in this league. I have yet to meet 1 parent who thinks that the GTHL is being run anywhere near the way it should and yet we have idiots coming on here defending them and giving nonsensical reasons. Can you just imagine if you drove a GM vehicle all of your life and now wanted to make a change. Then GM sends you a letter telling you if you go to a FORD that you will no longer be allowed to drive your GM car. Think about it people. The other day I talked to a soccer coach who comes here from Holland and gives training that you cannot even find in this country not even at our national level. Each year he comes here to Ontario and holds camps for hundreds of very good players and the best even get an invite back to Holland to the Ajax camps to tryout for the pro jr teams. Well this year he signed up 150 boys in Alberta for a camp to be held in Calgary. Low and behold he was stopped by the Alberta provincial and was not allowed to hold his camp. Just what kind of country are we living in when we allow this to happen? Remember that tyranny will not come to your door as a drug dealer or criminal as we know him but tyranny will come to our doors wearing a uniform. Freedom of choice is what our freedoms were built on and why we pay homage on Nov. 11 every year to those that fought and died for it and us. Dont let it slip away.
