Yes, in three years time.

I doubt they will pick him for Team Canada, it makes no sense. Let him go to camp, get a feel and then let him play next year.

scoring machine

you want to exclude the leading goal scorer in the ohl so far this year. he belongs on the team now. he is so focussed and ready and mature for his age. he will impress them big time at camp. wait and see........

he is a greast scorer when he gets the puck.the rest of his game is brutal.he loafs around one paced until he gets the puck.team canada needs a forward to be good in their own end,not a liability. Tavares is good, not great.he has scored 98% of his goals on the pp.he is on a line with oshawas two best all round forwards in clutterbuck and mclean. watch Tavares when he doesnt have the puck.he is one paced and lazy. very, very good sniper but thats it.

no matter what your opinion is on Tavares you can't knock the kid, all the pressure that is put on him is ridiculous he's only 16. Most of us would fall and crumble under the same circumstances.

You're Kidding Right?

Let me guess Gretzky, Howe and Orr were also no good? Come on give us all a break. The kid is 16 and already in his second full year of playing in the "O". A million kids dream and he's excelling. There is nothing you or anyone can say to knock this kid, he's a supreme talent end of story.

I can't knock the kid but the teams he has gone to in the form of Team Ontario and Team Canada u18 have not done well. He will get where he is going, what's the rush?

I am not knocking him, I am merely saying that when you think of Howe and Orr you think complete player.Defence offence, pp,pk the whole bit. Gretzky and now Tavares are strickly sniper.Gretzky was better without the puck than Tavares will ever be.Tavares is easier to shut down than any of the pre mentioned players. He is strickly a pp guy. He needs great grinders around him and he is a slug on defence. Team Canada will not take him, unless they can afford a guy for powerplay only. Brian Little in Barrie is twice the two way player Tavares will ever be. The kid is good, no doubt. But two way, complete player, absolutely NOT.

I guess the fact he has the highest plus/minus on the team means nothing either.
