I can honestly say it will be hard to predict 1st 2nd and 3rd this coming year. Between the Knights, EE, Aces, Goulding and maybe Bruins.

Aces followed closely by the Knights with the Islanders, EE and Goulding in a pack but 8 to 12 points back of the top 2.

Will the Knights be that good next year, ya they got Mcdonald back but thats about it. There still a small team that might get hurt in Minor Miget.

They have lost a few players including Cambell who went to the Aces and it sounds like Lapoint wont be back either. Greenaway is gone to try his hand a AAA. Knect is gone. They may be a lot weaker than they think they are as the replacements are Hillcrest players from what I have heard and they are not as good as the players lost.

Here we go again. The Aces parents "BLOWING THEIR HORNS" It is as if the
2005-2006 Aces can beat the "AAA" Kings, Marlies and Ice Dogs. Probably all
in one afternoon too. They say they are going to be in 1st place with lets
10 Points ahead of the next team. I do not know of any New Players the Aces
signed that are outstanding. Name me 1 Player that they signed that stands out. Do not underestimate the other 3 teams especially E.E. They are sitting very quiet. They have signed some very good players, but the E.E. Parents
will wait until the end of November to open their mouths. The Aces should
do the same.

A WHOLE NEW BALLGAME

May 30 2005, 11:01 PM

Next season I think we will see very competitive hockey
with the standings being a lot closer than what the players/parents are used to. Just take a look at last years MMidget East standings.

I doubt that hillcrest will be in the fray as they have lost all their top players. As for the Aces parents tooting their horn. Sounds more like an EE parent who's chain got pulled.

Re: The way I see it

June 1 2005, 9:31 AM

It will be a grueling season for teams with only 15 or 16 players if they have any long term injuries. Most AAA teams try to carry at least 18 players at this age but many parents feel that with anything more than 9 forwards and or 5 D that their sons ice time will be comprimised somewhat. One example last year was the EE as they hardly ever played with a full team. We have all read the excuses on the other forum about why they lost and most of the time they were saying that they were short players. Before EE people come on here and cuss me. There is no mal intent here, just using your team as an example of what can happen when your short 2 or 3 playere due to injuries, suspensions and vacations.

The Knights are a bunch of small players that won't last in Minor Midget, the Knights run is over and its time to make way for teams like EE, Islanders and Aces to step up. Don't look for the Knights to be in the top 3 for next year and maybe not even in the top 5.

Is "someone" filling your head with false promises of finishing in the top three? Or maybe even taking first place? If so, bad move, it always comes back and bites you in the rear.

The great thing about this loop is that it seems there has been enough turnover and team personnel changes on many teams to expect a very competitive top-8 and how the top 4-5 will align is anyone's guess right now. Just have to get this damn summer season out of the way first!! lol

This board does not seem to have many people doing what you just said but more like people whom enjoy the game that they need something to connect to during the off season. Making predictions is just part of that. It’s obvious that the Aces and Knights will be the favorites as of now, just look at their past records. The Knights are still strong and the Aces look to be getting stronger. If everything the Bruins say is factual then they will be right up there as well as the Islanders. As for the rest of the teams, I don’t see any improvements as some boast about their acquisitions but conveniently forget to tell you who the lost to another team or AAA.

"As for the rest of the teams, I don’t see any improvements as some boast about their acquisitions but conveniently forget to tell you who they lost to another team or AAA."

O.K. so lets see.........so you mentioned the Aces, Knights,Islanders and Bruins. So THE REST OF THE TEAMS
that you seem to be questioning (and my guess is that you were from one of these teams and not asked back)
are GP, EE, NT, Hillcrest, Areos, Kings. Willowdale and Peguins. I really highly doubt that any of these teams are conveniently forgetting to say who they lost to another team or AAA......from what I can recall from last season the players that stayed on these teams are significantly better than anyone they "lost".

How stupid all these rumours. There are no problems with the Bruins at all. Coach Peter was away for work until the end of September and is now back for the season. The kid from Belarus is not going anywhere, who would start such a silly rumour. The Korean goalie went home to pursue better hockey opportunities and the Bruins have signed an Australian kid who is a much better goalie anyway. Keep your parent infighting issues with your own team(ie E.E.). All is quite fine and enjoyable in bear country, well on the way to being a top five team as hoped. But thanks for your concern.

knights wont finish first, i bet they wont even finish second, i can picture a tough team like islanders beatin them in the standings. but no question that aces will come in first, they are a much tougher team to beat compared to knights. Since aces lost against bruins, they really work up. They played goulding, NT, isles, ee, NYK, and each game aloud only one goal, and scored a total of 22 goals. it well be hard for the next team to break this streak, but good luck!

I thought for sure at season's start, that this was the Ace's year, but the loop is pretty tight and there have been many great 'upsets' (if we can still call them that at this stage); I'm amazed the Knights have still been able to rumble on; they do not seem much better talent-wise than the other top 4-6 teams; but they do seem more disciplined; perhaps that is the difference....

Re: Battle for 1st

The Knights have been upset as well this year just on a lesser scale than othe teams. If you look at their record they have lost more games this year than the last 2 seasons combined. Its the nature of the beast at this age and many boys will quit playing after this year. The playoffs are a different matter as many teams that are on the winning side of an upset will never be able to string more than one upset victory and therefor will find it a lot harder to win a playoff series. The Knights and Aces are still the class of the field and will adapt in the playoffs although the Aces look very shaky of late.

I refuse to use the word upset because all the games being played save a few are tight.
It will be a great and competative race to the cup.
