| I can honestly say it will be hard to predict 1st 2nd and 3rd this coming year. Between the Knights, EE, Aces, Goulding and maybe Bruins. |

Aces followed closely by the Knights with the Islanders, EE and Goulding in a pack but 8 to 12 points back of the top 2. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: The way see it | May 30 2005, 9:16 PM |
Will the Knights be that good next year, ya they got Mcdonald back but thats about it. There still a small team that might get hurt in Minor Miget. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: The way see it | May 30 2005, 9:22 PM |
They have lost a few players including Cambell who went to the Aces and it sounds like Lapoint wont be back either. Greenaway is gone to try his hand a AAA. Knect is gone. They may be a lot weaker than they think they are as the replacements are Hillcrest players from what I have heard and they are not as good as the players lost. |

Here we go again. The Aces parents "BLOWING THEIR HORNS" It is as if the
2005-2006 Aces can beat the "AAA" Kings, Marlies and Ice Dogs. Probably all
in one afternoon too. They say they are going to be in 1st place with lets
10 Points ahead of the next team. I do not know of any New Players the Aces
signed that are outstanding. Name me 1 Player that they signed that stands out. Do not underestimate the other 3 teams especially E.E. They are sitting very quiet. They have signed some very good players, but the E.E. Parents
will wait until the end of November to open their mouths. The Aces should
do the same.

Anonymous (no login) | Re: The way see it | May 30 2005, 9:58 PM |
Then again, let them talk. Will be even sweeter when they get a whoopin' by some of these teams. Islanders, EE and Knights just to name a few. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: The way see it | May 30 2005, 9:59 PM |
Lapointe definately not returning next season. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: The way see it | May 30 2005, 10:28 PM |
Islanders have apparently improved their roster for upcoming season. I heard that they are signing 19 players. Think they should be in top 3. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | A WHOLE NEW BALLGAME | May 30 2005, 11:01 PM |
Next season I think we will see very competitive hockey
with the standings being a lot closer than what the players/parents are used to. Just take a look at last years MMidget East standings. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: A WHOLE NEW BALLGAME | May 30 2005, 11:19 PM |
A tight race with 5-6 teams involved would be fantastic.
Knights, Aces, EE, Isles, GP, SYB +/- Summits or NT |
|
Anonymous (no login) | The way I see it | May 31 2005, 4:14 AM |
I doubt that hillcrest will be in the fray as they have lost all their top players. As for the Aces parents tooting their horn. Sounds more like an EE parent who's chain got pulled. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: The way I see it | May 31 2005, 5:59 AM |
Even funnier is that above post sounds like an Islander parent who is not happy with having 19 players on their roster. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: The way I see it | May 31 2005, 8:24 AM |
Islanders are not signing 19 players! |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: The way I see it | May 31 2005, 2:20 PM |
What would be the problem signing 19 anyway? This is MMidget and there will be school stuff, suspensions and also the possibility of injuries. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: The way I see it | May 31 2005, 4:54 PM |
Thats a good idea, this year more than ever will be injuries and suspensions. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: The way I see it | June 1 2005, 9:31 AM |
It will be a grueling season for teams with only 15 or 16 players if they have any long term injuries. Most AAA teams try to carry at least 18 players at this age but many parents feel that with anything more than 9 forwards and or 5 D that their sons ice time will be comprimised somewhat. One example last year was the EE as they hardly ever played with a full team. We have all read the excuses on the other forum about why they lost and most of the time they were saying that they were short players. Before EE people come on here and cuss me. There is no mal intent here, just using your team as an example of what can happen when your short 2 or 3 playere due to injuries, suspensions and vacations. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: The way I see it | June 1 2005, 10:17 AM |
Yes, also Hillcrest started the season off very short with only 12 boys on the bench at some games. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: The way I see it | June 2 2005, 6:10 AM |
All teams that will be contenders already have a least 17 signed. Anticipating that these things will be a factor. |

Why are the Islanders up there, did they make some big moves at tryouts? |
|

Theres 4 different groups of teams in my mind.
1-2 - aces, knights
3-5 - Bruins, EE, Islanders
6-8 - NT, Goulding, Hillcrest
9-12 - Willowdale, Aeros, Kings, Penguins
My order would be
1. Aces
2. Knights
3. Bruins
4. Islanders
5. EE
6. Goulding
7. NT
8. Hillcrest
9. Kings
10. Aeros
11. Willowdale
12. Penguins |

The Knights are a bunch of small players that won't last in Minor Midget, the Knights run is over and its time to make way for teams like EE, Islanders and Aces to step up. Don't look for the Knights to be in the top 3 for next year and maybe not even in the top 5. |

Why are Bruins ranked so high? What have they done? |

My order would be
1. Aces
2. Knights
3. Bruins
4. Islanders
5. EE
6. Goulding
7. NT
8. Hillcrest
9. Kings
10. Aeros

Buddy, please. What makes you think that the Bruins are going to finish higher than the Islanders, EE and Goulding? Get real. Let me guess.... Is "someone" filling your head with false promises of finishing in the top three? Or maybe even taking first place? If so, bad move, it always comes back and bites you in the rear. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: Battle for 1st | June 3 2005, 8:53 AM |
The great thing about this loop is that it seems there has been enough turnover and team personnel changes on many teams to expect a very competitive top-8 and how the top 4-5 will align is anyone's guess right now. Just have to get this damn summer season out of the way first!! lol |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: Battle for 1st | June 3 2005, 5:01 PM |
I doubt the Bruins will finish higher than 5th and the knights are going way down hill from last year. |

Anonymous (no login) | Re: Battle for 1st | June 3 2005, 10:06 PM |
Its fun to talk about this stuff leating up to the next season, and its something to look foward to, and anyway EE is the best. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: Battle for 1st | June 4 2005, 9:45 AM |
Knights and Aces have lots of coaching experience and will still dominate although some teams will give them a go and possibly win the odd game from them, they will still be the strength of the field. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: Battle for 1st | June 4 2005, 9:58 AM |
It seems to me that only a few teams are doing any talking,we know who they are. It is best to wait and see, there will be surprises. |

This board does not seem to have many people doing what you just said but more like people whom enjoy the game that they need something to connect to during the off season. Making predictions is just part of that. It’s obvious that the Aces and Knights will be the favorites as of now, just look at their past records. The Knights are still strong and the Aces look to be getting stronger. If everything the Bruins say is factual then they will be right up there as well as the Islanders. As for the rest of the teams, I don’t see any improvements as some boast about their acquisitions but conveniently forget to tell you who the lost to another team or AAA. |
|

"As for the rest of the teams, I don’t see any improvements as some boast about their acquisitions but conveniently forget to tell you who they lost to another team or AAA."
O.K. so lets see.........so you mentioned the Aces, Knights,Islanders and Bruins. So THE REST OF THE TEAMS
that you seem to be questioning (and my guess is that you were from one of these teams and not asked back)
are GP, EE, NT, Hillcrest, Areos, Kings. Willowdale and Peguins. I really highly doubt that any of these teams are conveniently forgetting to say who they lost to another team or AAA......from what I can recall from last season the players that stayed on these teams are significantly better than anyone they "lost". |

With the game last night, could you say that the Bruins have a chance to finish 1st. If they improve and work hard throughout the season. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: Battle for 1st | October 1 2005, 3:09 PM |
If everyone else stopped working and got worse. Yes then they could take first. But then again Gordie Howe might come out of retirement. LOL |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: Battle for 1st | October 1 2005, 5:57 PM |
No chance Bruins could make first not good enough, they will be from 6 to 8th place. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: Battle for 1st | October 1 2005, 10:55 PM |
If the Bruins can hang on to their players, they will be in the top 5 for sure. They have now lost one of their goalies and could soon loose a forward. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: Battle for 1st | October 1 2005, 11:04 PM |
Is it possible from a team that promised so much? |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: Battle for 1st | October 1 2005, 11:13 PM |
Yes it possible with any team......But I think inexperience prevails here. Especially with the goalie - that's the only reason other teams didn't sign him. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | a few questions | October 2 2005, 9:15 AM |
Is it true that there is a lot of infighting on the Bruins?
Why did the other coaches leave?
Is the Russian kid leaving and why? |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: a few questions | October 2 2005, 9:17 AM |
Also, what happened to their big goalie? |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: a few questions | October 2 2005, 9:38 AM |
How stupid all these rumours. There are no problems with the Bruins at all. Coach Peter was away for work until the end of September and is now back for the season. The kid from Belarus is not going anywhere, who would start such a silly rumour. The Korean goalie went home to pursue better hockey opportunities and the Bruins have signed an Australian kid who is a much better goalie anyway. Keep your parent infighting issues with your own team(ie E.E.). All is quite fine and enjoyable in bear country, well on the way to being a top five team as hoped. But thanks for your concern. |

|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: a few questions | October 2 2005, 10:29 AM |
You can't say that. This is Minor Midget, injuries will be huge this year. It is also early. You never know what teams could suprise this year. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: a few questions | October 2 2005, 11:04 AM |
Well its obvious that your day job is not an accountants one. Many teams have played 3 and 4 games already. You will also notice that the 2 top teams have played 4 and not lost yet. It may be early but it is an indication, and when you look at the past I guess it may not be a coincidence either. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: a few questions | October 2 2005, 11:27 AM |
Oh that makes a big difference; 32-33 games left vs. 34. The only good thing is that once your team (likely Aces)drifts back to obscurity when 2-3 other AA teams step to the plate and knock you from your high horse, then at least we won't hear from you much on this forum .... |

Knights will finish first this year. It was just one game. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | battle for 1st | November 4 2005, 4:13 PM |
knights wont finish first, i bet they wont even finish second, i can picture a tough team like islanders beatin them in the standings. but no question that aces will come in first, they are a much tougher team to beat compared to knights. Since aces lost against bruins, they really work up. They played goulding, NT, isles, ee, NYK, and each game aloud only one goal, and scored a total of 22 goals. it well be hard for the next team to break this streak, but good luck! |

Both teams played a great game. Aces had a slight advantage but the score ended 2-2. If N.T. played like that every game they would be top 3 without a doubt. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: battle for 1st | November 14 2005, 5:49 PM |
top 3 with out a doubt? are you joking aces were all over them. two shots two lucky goals. NT had no chance in the game. im guessing NT will stay where they are during the season |

|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: Battle for 1st | January 9 2006, 9:38 AM |
I thought for sure at season's start, that this was the Ace's year, but the loop is pretty tight and there have been many great 'upsets' (if we can still call them that at this stage); I'm amazed the Knights have still been able to rumble on; they do not seem much better talent-wise than the other top 4-6 teams; but they do seem more disciplined; perhaps that is the difference.... |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: Battle for 1st | January 9 2006, 11:10 AM |
It is clear that you have NO talent at assessing talent.
|
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: Battle for 1st | January 9 2006, 11:34 AM |
The Knights have been upset as well this year just on a lesser scale than othe teams. If you look at their record they have lost more games this year than the last 2 seasons combined. Its the nature of the beast at this age and many boys will quit playing after this year. The playoffs are a different matter as many teams that are on the winning side of an upset will never be able to string more than one upset victory and therefor will find it a lot harder to win a playoff series. The Knights and Aces are still the class of the field and will adapt in the playoffs although the Aces look very shaky of late. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: Battle for 1st | January 9 2006, 12:30 PM |
I think the Knights and Aces will blow out in the first round.
I refuse to use the word upset because all the games being played save a few are tight.
It will be a great and competative race to the cup.
Good Luck to all
