Sunday scores

October 18 2009, 10:24 PM

Ajax - 5 Leaside - 1
Huskies - 7 North Stars - 1

Finals

AJAX - 3 HUSKIES - 2 (3 OT)

Game was tied 2-2 after 3 periods. They played (2) 10 minute OT periods and then played another 5 minute 4 on 4 OT period and still tied 2-2. As they were facing a curfew with the ice, they had to settle it with a shoot out, and Ajax scored on their first 2 shots and the Huskies none, with the final score was 3-2 Ajax. It was a great game between 2 evenly matched teams and not to mentioned VERY TIRED.

I think there is another 5 GTHL teams that might want to have a say still on that assumption. No disrespect to Ajax or Huskies but its October not April. See you in exactly 6 months and then we can compare notes.

Let 's wait and see....

October 20 2009, 1:28 AM

It is early at this point, as the GTHL has at least 6 top teams, and the OMHA has a few. Because of the way things are set up, some of these teams will not make it to some events like the Silver Stick and the OHF Finals, but will be in action next month at the Gardner Cup, as this tournament is large enough to allow all of theses teams to compete. The same can not be said for the Stick or the OHF's, but it won't be the first time, and its too bad that the set up doesn't allow all of them them to do so.
