Leaside are the Kings

With back to back wins vs the east enders leaside is now in 1st place outright. Congrats to Stephen and his staff on building a solid team. The Kings goalie Peters played an outstanding game and the Kings forwards were very responsible defensively. Leaside needs to work on there defence as too many errors were committed. I don't understand why ***********was getting so much ice, a single A player at best. Just brutal. East Enders looked very flat and disorganized. Too many selfish players on the team trying to play single A hockey at this level. However the EE goalie had an outstanding game and the 5-2 score was very flattering. It could have been a lot worse.

Please do not mention players names and or numbers unless you have something good to say. This will be your only warning.

Nice view from a Leaside point of view. EE was very flat which means they did not play even close to what their level of play usually is. If your taking this as a sign of how good your team is... man your in trouble.

The City Championships

February 12 2010, 11:23 PM

According to the GTHL records, in the last 10 yrs your team has been in what, just ONE (1) City Championship. But you guys are the Kings. Or should I say the pooh. Just ask any member of the purple and silver cult, and they'll simply tell you.

Should be a walk for your squad thru the playoffs. We already know that the crappy East Enders arent in your class, right. Look out Vaughan, Huskies, Braves and Hornets. The Kings are going to crown anyone who dare try to play with them. If it was that easy.

I think the right phrase should be, Keep your heads up boys.

I don't understand the persons criticism. was he saying a Leaside player was the single A player or did the EE have a bad player.

OHF's

February 13 2010, 1:12 PM

With East Enders getting a free ride to the big final weekend as hosts, that means only 1 GTHL team going.

Who finishes where is anyones guess. I hadn't heard if Leaside had the points from the final 3 games mailed in, so it still won't be decided until the final game.

I'm sure the Hornets thought that they were a good choice. Did their Florida trip take its toll? Braves are stronger and coming on without a Head Coach.

Vaughan and Huskies are still wildcards to the final 6 top spots. Of course the East Enders could just sit back and prepare for the OHF's. The way their playing, that may be whats going on with them playing flat.

Who would be the team not to face in the playoffs?????

Good luck with that prediction.

Huskies are playing terrible. Lost to colts recently.
Colts are playing well
Braves did not beat EE all season.
Kings are hot.. right now.
GP may not even make it.

If you have a crystal ball let me know, but it just sounds like your a Mississauga supporter who does not like any of the other teams.

The Kings crown looks a little tarnished today. Big loss to the Colts. Every game is a battle which any playoff bound team can win. GP beat the Hornets as well. Top six better be ready to play because no team is going to "bow out" to anyone.

Actually its 4 straight and it looks like they are just running out of gas from all those advertised games. Good job Coach. Run your troops dead before playoffs. Atleast you will get a few extra weeks of practice before the OHF's, when your eliminated from the 1st round.

Kings Get Crowned

February 24 2010, 11:44 PM

Looks like everyone forgot about the Braves. Wait, everyone but me. Just read the GTHL site and Braves spank the Kings 7-4 for their first Under 21 Kraft Cup.

Playoffs start tomorrow and it should be an interesting 6 weeks.

kings in a big hole

March 15 2010, 12:22 AM

well the kings are in a hole down 5-1 in points to the vaughan rangers. king defence has been downright horrible in the playoffs. rangers defence have been playing solid.

why are there not two refs for this series? the reffing has been terrible. the curfew of a juvy semifinal is an absolute joke. the kings coaches did absolutely nothing during the game and when the game was called to defend their own team. vaughan coaches outcoached king coaches and showed some life on the bench while kings coached did nothing all game long. leaside coaches seemed afraid to defend their players by an incompetent ref and the callback on a good leaside goal went unanswered by the leaside coaches. they should have went ballistic and stood up for their team but it appeared they themselves didn't care.

Sounds like a very irate Leaside parent.

They are the "Kings". Their attitude all season right from the GM down through the coaches, players and parents was that they are the chosen ones. All they need to do is go on the ice and everyone else should bow to them. Too bad for them that the other teams don't agree.

Why are you so bitter towards this team ? How are they different from any other team in the division?

Not bitter towards them at all. Actually like quite a few of people and players involved with the Kings but,ask pretty much anybody who has been part of the league for awhile and they will tell you the same thing. This organization acts like they should be treated special.
