Well, we still have to get a win over Van Buren in order to play Cabot. Not going to say that's a given, but if we play like we are capable of playing, we should win.
I think that Cabot-Russellville would come down to who can make the big stop on defense. The only majority passing team I know of that has played Cabot is Blytheville. The Chicks are a far cry from what Russellville brings to the table on both sides of the ball. I don't think the Panthers have seen any sort of passing game this year that could prepare them for what would come to Panther Stadium. I do know that their coaches will ahve them prepared though, because they are a Mike Malham team. He gets the most out of his players than anyone else in this state, year in and year out. The line play and ability to block to give Brown, our QB, time to throw and Tracey to run will be the keys for us on offense. Can't have stupid penalties to put us in long yardage situations. Can't have turnovers at costly times, which IMO would be the entire game. Have to get the points when they are able to be put on the board.
Now on defense, I think that if our offense gets going like it has the past couple of weeks, then all we may need is a stop or two, three to be safe. As we all know, Cabot is famous for lining up and just coming at you. The front four has been our weakness all year long and they will have to have the game of a life time in order to help us get a win. Play of the linebackers and secondary will also be key for run support, but we can't get suckered like we did against Conway. They would run so many plays in a row and then would toss one for big yardage. Have to avoid those types of situations and be ready for them. Another key is that we can't let Cabot chew up the clock on long drives. Have to get those stops in order to get our scoring machine offense on the field and give our defense some rest.
I think that if this game does match up then it will be a good one.
As for wearing WR gloves to games, that isn't me, but would be a guy I goto all the games with. Doesn't post here much, but his screen name on Fearless Friday is SMC (ShowMeCyclone)
