in a nutshell, the main character Marche with some friends get transported to this world from a book after making some kinda wish (if i remember correctly)
well they are transported to the fantasy world woth moogles and the like. Marche want's to end the world because he later finds out what the fantasy world really is and so he tries to do so. after you beat the game you can keep on playing in the fantasy world to get secret characters and other cool stuff.
