I was thinking of writing a more believable back story for Bron's absence until LBT ten. My back story is that there were more herd members to Littlefoot's natal herd then his parnets and grandparents and that sharpteeth attacked the herd and Bron and the others stayed behind and held off the sharpteeth while the pregnant feamles the young and the elderly escaped of which only Littlefoot's mother and grandmother survived. Bron's further absence is explained by the fact that he and the others including Littlefoot's aunt did search for the missing herd members, but after hearing through various sources of Littlefoot's Mother's battle and fatal injuring from her battle with the Sharptooth belived Littlefoot and his grandparents dead. Given the fatalistic tone of the first movie I believe this plausible. Bron then found a new mate, not forgetting his first but these are dinosaurs and the urge to survive the species in anyway would have been an important need. Bron then had a new family and while not forgetting his first, knew that he had an actual herd and family to take care of, in the form of his new mate and children and His nephew by Littlefoot's aunt and had their survival formost in mind. When he met Grandpa Longneck and Littlefoot is shocked to find his son and parent's in law indeed did survive. This I think is a better story then the one given in the tenth movie.
