It would be my guess too, but actually it wasn't used in three movies. Quite frankly, I know not of a song (with lyrics to it) that is used in three LBT movies. Actually I think Big Water was the only remake of a song, but it was used only twice in two movies only.

True, and I certainly don't mean to diminish the great job Steven Spielberg, one of the greatest movie makers ever is doing. However, I'm afraid that indeed he won't think about the land before time any longer.
In fact it seems Spielberg and Bluth had a hard time working together. It was mainly Spielberg who decided about many scenes being cut from the land before time.

A likely reason why they are careful about that

by (Login Malte279)
Forum Owner

Yet I think there mustn't be anything too far beyond what we saw in LBT 4. Don't think of me as inhibited towards something so wonderful as love but we mustn't forget that the LBT characters are kids! What I have seen written in certain "fanfictions" was really very close to pedophile which I consider more than just the ordinary every day kind of outrage!!!
I don't mean to say you had anything like that in mind. I'm thoroughly convinced you did not, but thise may well be the reason why love relationships between characters in LBT is very difficult a matter to deal with for the producers of LBT.

THe tv series

by (no login)

apparently there is going to be a LBT television series along with movie number twelve ..there was an article on it :

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - After selling more than 60 million units on DVD and VHS, the "Land Before Time" dinosaur franchise is headed to television.

The series of direct-to-video sequels to 1988's "The Land Before Time," directed by Don Bluth and executive produced by George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, has sparked the development of an animated TV series that is slated to debut on the Cartoon Network in the first-half of 2007. After the series airs, episodes will be released on DVD via Universal Studios.

Production has begun on 26 episodes of the "Land Before Time" series. It will feature many of the same characters that appeared in the movie and its 10 direct-to-video sequels, mostly such lovable animated dinosaurs as Littlefoot, Cera and Petrie. New characters also will be introduced. The series will be created using a combination of 2-D and 3-D backgrounds.

Additionally, Universal is preparing a feature film, "The Land Before Time: Day of the Flyers," also to be released in 2007, said Glenn Ross, head of Universal Studios Home Entertainment Family Prods.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And also in response to a previous message i think the return of Ali, bron and the others would make for a good story line. of course no LBT movie would be complete without a sharp tooth attack.
i have all of the 11 movies (i dont have the 2 singalongs yet) and i think they should keep making more because there are millions of possibilities for new movies.
However i think that the introduction of humans into the movie would sort of kill a bit of its magic, and one of the greatest things about the land before time is no one knows where it is so children think it could have been where they live, and the fact that it was not mixed with humans gave it a sense of being almost real because no humans were around.
Well maybe thats just my opinion.
Peace out
Crash xx

Hi Crash and Burn!
I sincerely thank you for your last statement. I began to feel like I was the only one left who wouldn't appreciate the introduction of humans, science-fiction, or other elements that don't fit into LBT as we know it from the movies.
I do not have the right, nor am I trying to discredit those who embrace such ideas or write such fanfictions, but I would be a liar if I claimed not to feel a little frustrated about it at times.

I agree with what your saying completely for i think that Bringing humans into the mix would cause the LBT to lose the thing that makes it a great movie. besides from that the creators obviously have plenty more ideas that dont include humans which is evident from the 12th movie.
i , like yourself, am not trying to keep these ideas from being expressed, i am just merely expressing my own opinions and beliefs on the movies.

That would be a different genre

by (no login)

Other than talking dinosaurs, some bizzare rocks, and those aliens in LBT 7 the land before time is a fairly realistic story. Including human time trevellers and the consequenzes to it would push it into a science-fiction / fantasy genre where it doesn't belong. It would perhaps become (roughly) similar to stuff like Pokemon or Digimon. I for my part wouldn't want that.

The rainbowfaces

by (no login)

It is a matter of interpretation and I heard different interpretations to what the rainbowfaces were. However, the column of light in which they disappeared apparently into that shining light on the sky reminded very strongly of science fiction movie's tractor beams. There talk about apparent orders on what to do and what to omit also seemed to point in that direction and so did the apparent knowledge of the rainbowfaces about what stars are and about the structure of atoms (during the song "Beyond the Mysterious Beyond"). That very title "Beyond the Mysterious Beyond" is also likely to refer to them being aliens from outer space.
I dislike the idea of such science fiction elements in a land before time movie, but it seems to be the most """plausible""" explanation for two characters who were obviously no "normal" dinosaurs. I also read about a religious interpretation of them, but less points speak in favor of such an interpretation and the idea of religion being mixed with LBT is not one I would approve of either.

I don't read F-14 Ace's stories, so I don't consider myself qualified for this job. You could ask megacharizard (alias Green Dragon SWBF) or Falcon88 (if he visits this forum, which I'm not sure of.)

If your e-mail address is invalid, try and find out why, or resort to getting a new one from Yahoo or a similar site.

Anyway, when Hewylewis said your story was stupid, you said "You're right." So if you think your idea is stupid, why are you still bothering with it?

I've thinking about doing a LBT/M*A*S*H fic.

by Steven (no login)

Have any of you watched a show called M*A*S*H?

I've become a fan of the show in recent months and I've been considering doing an alternate universe type fic where Littlefoot and the gang are playing the roles of the M*A*S*H charactes.

I plan to do this eventually, any thoughts?

LBT XI Songs

I have but only Creepy Crawlies and Girls and Dads. I don't have them however as MP3 files but as music that goes along with videos from the movie which makes the files rather large. I just sent you Creepy Crawlies (more than 4MB). Girls and Dads is even larger. I shall sent it to you later (I'm in sort of a hurry right now) once I know the other one came across alright despite of the size.

Can you send me Girls and Dads as well? And could you try to include the LBT Music Video and Littlefoot and his Grandpa's duet?

I sent you the video of Girls and Dads. However, as I said I do not have the third song of LBT 11 (the duet of Littlefoot and his grandpa) which I think is titled if only so I cannot include it.
