I was a little miffed that you didn't answer my question about your SAM shares, then finally noticed that you answered me in another thread. Thanks. I am very happy to see you making a little money for once and hope that the upward trend continues for you. The p/e ratio isn't as scary as a lot of small cap stocks are and there is enough daily volume for you to get rid of it if their fortunes turn south. Good luck!

Re: the whole "market manipulation" thing. If there is one thing that has been agreed upon by the majority of investors and traders of all pursuations, it is that the market is manipulated. Rather than by some "in the shadows" group of people referred to by Warren as the "strong hands", it is generally accepted that FEAR and GREED are the controlling factors.

I use what I see as the fear and greed trends of the majority of institutional investors to make completely contrary investment decisions, and it has rewarded me beyond my wildest dreams. Every "idiot" on the planet was issuing a "sell" on IBM when I bought it, and I will definitely sell if the same group ever get's to screaming "Buy!' simultaneously.

In an earlier post you stated, "It's painfully obvious to any reader here that you're not a trader-- but rather a buy and hold person". To the contrary, some of my most spectacular gains have occured on short term holding periods; generally the riskier the stock, the shorter my holding period.

Herein lies my question for you: I purchased 100,000 shares of APW @.28 Wednesday afternoon (a stock I have been watching since the spin-off) for the same MAIN reason that I purchased IBM in '93 ... everybody on the planet was downgrading, selling or suing it. They have a billion in sales per year, (with IBM, Cisco, Nokia, Lucent, Motorola, Sun Microsystems, etc. as customers) but are having trouble meeting debt payments because of the downturn in spending. I am a penny shy of 100% gain in two trading days.

What do you think of the purchase of this stock through the eyes of Ted Warren? What would be his criteria for an exit?

APW is very very bad buy... I can't believe you did that.

It's hard for me to believe that you and I are talking about the same "Ted Warren". How could you possibly get in APW? It's absolutely horrible.

I'm working on getting another copy of TW's book so I can't quote from it and I really need to review it again in light of the arguments I'm making here that don't see to be going very far. My best guess on APW, though, is that it's simply not a TW stock because

a) there's not a long enough accumulation period which should be about 3 years.

b) there's not even a downtrend line that's been broken.

Are you just testing me or playing with my head or what? APW???? I invite the reader to witness SD's judgement for yourself and look at the APW chart. You'll be amazed too.

Sorry to rail on your buy like this, SD, but it's no fun to have forum and then say "Gee, that's an interesting purchase SD" when I can't see any merit in it at all. If we had a TW trading firm and you were one of my brokers, I'm afraid I'd have to fire you.

But don't take that the wrong way. I still enjoy having everyone contribute what they can. Sure hope you don't lose all your money. HA HA HA HA.

After firing him, would you consider hiring me?
Never an APW here! And certainly would not brag about it.

Unless he is privy to inside info, naw, that would be illegal.
