Hi Rick,
Just found your site from a link posted at:http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/tedwarrenchatgroup

Just wanted to add my 2 cents regarding Merrill Lynch. I also have an account with ML, which I opened in Apr 99. I have my business accounts, SEP IRA and Roth IRA account with them. Currently all my stock trades are with my retirement accounts. Trades get very expensive with ML. $50.00 is the usual for 100 shares, the fee rises with the number of shares purchased or sold. December they started on-line and fixed fee trading. This fixed fee is 1% of your portfolio or a minimum of $1,500 per year. Because I've been doing alot of trading (using Ted's methods) I've enrolled. The problem with their on-line tradings is that you can't place an order for a stock trading under $5.00! - So I still call my broker for any stock under $5.00 which is a hassel!!! At this point, it would be a pain to switch all my account because I believe I would have to liquidate all to cash before closing. Their service is very good and the trades are executed right away

I checked with Muriel Siebert & Co about IRA's. They were rated highest in the Kiplinger rating. They told me that you could transfer shares without selling from one broker to another. I haven't tried yet, but you may want to check.

I have been with them for over two years. I have traded close to 50,000 shares with them and never paid more than $13 a trade. The largest was a 15,000 share market order to buy for $8. Trades are sometimes executed within 1 minute of send. I used to use their "quote lists" to track Ted Warren newsletter picks until they broke trend. Now I follow between 60-100 stocks and download daily updates into Quicken Deluxe 2000 automatically from S&P Comstock. I set alerts to signal when a TW stock breaks trend. The alert tells me to buy and then I sell when the trend breaks again. No-brainer.

Quicken Deluxe 2000 and commodities trading

Hi Chuck!

I saw your post on Rick's chat forum regarding Ameritrade and
using Quicken Deluxe 2000. I was curious if you have figured out how
to use QD2000 for tracking commodities trading - both futures and options?
I'm at a loss as to how to keep track of it, and the daily/weekly statements
I get from ADM Investor Services are quite confusing.

I wasn't sure if this would be a generally useful topic on the message
board, and thought it might be considered too off-topic, but I guess I will
let the moderator decide. :-)

Thanks!

Hi Glenn,
If you are using ADM they clear for Main St.
Main St. has an excellent site for tracking trades, but I don't recommend them as a broker (way to expensive).
But their online charts and research information are great.
I left Main St, but left a few hundred bucks in just to have access to the site.
The URL is www.mainstreettrading.com.

But again, you have to have an account at Main St. in order to use it.

Hi MIT!

Yes, I agree totally. I have done rather poorly overall with my broker at Main Street because I've let him persuade me to make trades I wouldn't have otherwise. I plan on closing my outstanding contracts/options when possible and letting some money sit in that account for access to the charts and to the trade tracker, which I like very much.

I have another account with Xpresstrade which I am very happy with, where I feel like *I* am the one in control. ADM clears for them too.

If anyone figures out a good way to track futures
and options trading with Quicken Deluxe 2000, I would really like to hear about it. Quicken handles stocks beautifully, but seems to be totally ignorant of futures/options, at least as far as I can tell.
