My name is Graham and im from canada, now living in phoenix,az. Ive had the ted warren book and a package put together by Ken Roberts for about a month now. The package was $200 and includes a short version of the book as a reference manual, and tapes of Ted Warren speaking. This package includes a newsletter composed monthly by Ken Roberts, which contains stock picks and explanations. I am currently tracking 34 stocks that i picked using ted's methods from the US Chart Company chartbook.(included in the package) My plan now is to open an Ameritrade account and tobuy using these methods. I would love to hear from anyone who has used these methods.

Graham, I thought that course from KR included the complete book that Ted Warren wrote. I was thinking of getting the course myself but getting the complete Ted Warren book included was one of the drawing cards for me. Is it really only a shortened version that is included?

Also are you planning to trade any Canadian stocks? I am from Canada too.

Shortened book

I too bought the KR course. It included the Ted Warren book (as originally published - complete) AND a smaller "summary" written by Ken Roberts. Both are useful - but if you have some experience dealing with stocks and know the terminology etc., you may be able to just buy the Ted Warren book through Amazon.com. What you may miss though is the Investolator Newsletter (3 months with the course) and a Cart Book (one with the course). However, based on some of the notes on this site, charts can be had elsewhere (just not as convenient to skim through) and the Investolator selections are mentioned as well.

That being written, I still think the KR course is worth it - and the costs of the course and any subscriptions can be deducted from your earnings (so I think of it as "on sale")

I have used Ted's methods and the Investolator to select SZ and CLHB - both doing what Ted would have predicted. I have not subscribed to the Charts - using on-line sources instead.

Best of luck ...

Dan

Locating small-cap stocks

I've recently received Ted's course and have almost completed it -- still have a couple of chapters to read. Being new I found the compiled chart book very easy but how do you find the stocks on-line without the chartbook? Bigcharts wants you to enter the symbol so how do I find companys to look at -- in the newspaper or where? I'm also having problems with the trendlines -- I understand uptrend & downtrend but how steep do I draw the lines and when? I've noticed that even though 45 degrees is often referred to that doesn't appear to be a steadfast rule. Also what constitutes low volume? Is it below a certain percentage of the market shares? I find that reading and trying to apply the principals just leads to more questions. I'm awaiting my AmeriTrade account to be funded and then.... Appreciate any guidance. Thanks.

I have been using the techniques since Nov. I bought IDYN at 3 1/2 and at 5. I sold at 8 1/4 after a sharp rise of about 250% to 9 1/2. I used my profits to diversify into more stock. After IDYN stopped falling I got back in at 8 5/8. Today, a few days later it is near 10. Check out FONAR and SFT. I am also in TMED and PESI.

why are you still in tmed? are you looking for a larger move back up? has not the recent drop been a sell signal?

Just curious and looking for input.
