Hey guys and gals, check this out. When you are checking out how much one of your stocks are owned by insiders and institutions you notice that the ownership is of the float. What the float means is that this is the amount of shares that are actually available to the public. They are outstanding shares less shares held by insiders and institutions. So when you see insiders 20% and institutions 10% you will know that if your company has ten million shares outstanding 20% of that total is held by insiders and 10% is held by institutions. What is left is for the public.TW developed a method of trend lines and Gann developed another technical method. And another and another method in charting was developed in the early days of charting. Now we can take a look at floatanalysis and what it is.It seems that many things in the market have cycles. We see these cycles on our charts everyday.Floatanalysis is the length of time it takes to buy and sell the float. This is called a time frame. It might take 3-mo. 6-mo. or a year to complete this cycle.Steve Woods developed a charting method of the floatanalysis by using some of Gann and some of TW and others. His principal theme is a technique for exploiting price and volume.Check it out at www.floatanalysis.com

Float Analysis gives further credit to bases at all levels and with today's fast access to information, we have yet another tool at our disposal. Investolators should be eager to access the movement of shares by insiders, especially during the formation of a base. I will have to look into this a little further.
Lester.

Thanks Tony. I noticed the Float on the insidertrader.com site and wondered what it meant. Is that how you found out about it? Keep up the great work and thanks again for sharing your vast knowledge.

Thanks Tony for the information on floatanalysis. You can also have a free e-mail newsletter, so far free, sent to you on his picks. It would be interesting to see who he picked.
