This is the 3rd drama series I watch with her & her co-star actor alex man tze leung casted as the leading couple.

I think she makes a cute on-screen couple ever since I watch them in atv's 1980's hit drama series---'dynasty I" & "the tai chi master I'.
dynasty & tai chi master I was more memorable to me because of the great themesong and storyline & the leading couple casts.

alex seem to aged alot in this series, he look like middle-aged in his 40's and this was a early 1990's production. I am glad that michelle didn't aged as much as he does during this series. she was young-looking like in her 30's like a housewife, she's not that pretty in here as in her atv's 80's hot drama series but she is good-looking or fine-looking in 'down memory lane'.

the storyline focus too much on the leading character--alex.
I wonder how old did they get married ---I mean this drama's storyline's leading characters---they have many kids like 4 kids---my guess is that they got married in their late teens.

I feel sorry for what the leading couple have to go through.
It was too bad that michelle's storyline character married someone else after she believed her first husband alex was thought to be died. I am glad that they have a happy ending that her second divorce her after discovering she really love her first husband instead.

what did you think about this series. Agree or disagree? and why??

Frankly speaking, i don't quite like the front part of this series... Maybe i can't accept the fact that Michelle was the mother of the 4 children.
If you want to say this story is focusing on Alex Man, i can only say you are quite wrong this time. As the Chinese title of Down Memory Lane is ÍòÀﳤÇé, this had clearly defined it as Michelle's character, Yuen Sau Lan travelled from Hong Kong to Indonesia for the sake of her husband, Alex. No matter how far the distance between them, their love for each other is eternal...
Actually, i will prefer Yuen Sau Lan to be with Wong Wai, her second husband after finding that Alex had died in Indonesia. Because it was him who change the life of Yuen. She became so elegant and even know how to play piano. It was him who change the life of her. I don't know whether she is happy leading with him or not, what i only know is Wong Wai had been trying to give her the best of everything he could. This can be seen through when Wong asked for a divorce as he couldn't bear to see her suffering under the torment of avoiding Alex. He knew she still can't forget Alex, he is willing to draw out the triangle love as he finds that as long as the woman he likes stays happy, he is contented.
Don't you find him noble?

I watch the whole series, the storyline mainly focus on alex man's storyline character, michelle was shown at the beginning & ending for the most parts.
I remembered there were several scenes missing michelle in it while almost every scene have alex man's character in it.

It was kindness & morally right for the second husband to ask for a divorce since it won't do them any good to stay in their love triangle.
michelle's character only married him because mainly out of her gratitude to him, liked making a payment for debt gratitude and her kids liked him & he seeing that he really was fond of her. I think he was kind of too old for her.
and that she believed her first husband died.

I liked watching the scenes where alex's character was searching for her when he heard that she was alive & existed somewhere and found her, attempts to persuaded her. when I was watching it, I was like, its too late, she's married to other man, you should come sooner for her.

I especially like the scene where alex & michelle were waving to people standing on the stairs of a boat----they make a cute on-screen couple together.

I wish there were more drama series of them casting as the leading couple when they were young in atv's 1980's series besides dynasty, tai chi master I & down memory lane.

yup, that was nice..... I also find that Wong Wai is too old for Michelle. Though Michelle married to Wong Wai out of gratitude, there's room for him in her heart....

the doctor was played by actor wong, wai and was michelle's second husband.
the actress who played the doctor's mother seem more like his older sister than his mother. I think michelle only feel her second husband as a best friend in her heart.

whereas alex man (the leading actor)---his character & michelle's character seem to have known each other since childhood or during their teenage years and they seem to have fond feelings of each other.

I remembered the scene where alex man was arrested in jail and his lady friend came to bail him out---he told her that he didn't mistaken his own wife since he knew her many years since their youth.

I was wondering how old didn't meet each other and how old did they married.

mm ... finished this one a couple days ago ...

first, didn't anyone else find her children supremely annoying? they cried all the time! and screamed in excitement when they weren't crying! and there are four of them! i would have been driven crazy by the noise if i were their mum ...

the story was yes, rather boring ... a little incoherent too, the bits didn't seem to link together. the early episodes must have been unsatisfactory to any mi xue fan, i should think, since though she did appear the focus wasn't on her, the one having adventures and offending people and desperately trying to get jobs being alex man. this is why parallel storylines are necessary, so that the actress you like isn't at home cooking dinner and pleading with her husband not to be a fireman, a little more drama on that front would have been much appreciated.

when, at the end, she popped up as some master piano player i was rather astounded, heh; six years is a little short for someone to learn to play that well, especially if she was taking care of children and training to be a nurse and getting married et cetera at the same time ... but hey. maybe it was the years of deeply submerged talent coming forth all at once. i was extremely touched when the doctor proposed the divorce, but the kind of story this was (sentimental, melodramatic) made that kind of inevitable, the scriptwriters obviously felt that the overwhelming love of the main couple brooked no opposition. what i liked was what alex man said when he decided to give it up, to leave her be with the doctor -- "i understand why she can't leave him. he's our benefactor, he's saved our entire family, so that even if we aren't together at least we're safe. and i can't add to her pain." i liked the way that demonstrated a very peculiarly chinese school of thinking, that yes, being happy is important, but more than that being responsible is what comes first. very cool ...

and oh yes, michelle's fan -- in the last scene alex man says she married him when she was sixteen. i'm not sure why this is important to you but um yeah, i noticed he said that

I just like to know the storyline's characters' age that they are playing and what is their real age when the play their roles. Alex Man seem to appeared like a middle-age man or close to middle-age. michelle appeared like in her 30's.
the children-actors seem like less than 10 years old.

Its NOT important to me to find out her storyline's character's age. I just like to know about it when I was watching it at the time.
