one of michelle's worst series, I dislike this series because of the poor storyline & her character in there.
she was suppose to be a legendary beauty happily married to a general named chow yu according to legend, they were a loving couple but the scriptwriter messed up the storyline and the producer chose the wrong actor to play chow yu.
michelle was not pretty in this series and the makeup artist put too much make-up on her face that makes her look older and not pretty at all as according to the storyline.
and I dislike the scene where she was like forced herself to sleep with that evil man in order to save zh ge liang.
there are suppose to be many strategies & twists in the plot used by zhu ge liang who is known of his wits but zhu ge liang is portrayed as a very indecisive man in here---letting the woman he loved be married to other man--michelle's character was willing to marry him instead and run away with him.
I am so disappointed with this series. I do regretted I purchased the vcds boxsets too.

you're right, this one was terrible, though i guess i certainly wasn't bored watching it ... as action-packed as they come. completely irrelevant stories, execrable plotting, do hope the scriptwriters were given a good dressing down
i actually thought, though, she looked very pretty, it's a favourite idea of mine that she's prettiest from mid to late 1980s, when she's just on the brink of thirty -- shadow swordsman, laugh in the sleeve, this one ... she looked her sweetest and her face had become very delicate. she was cuter when younger (baby fat?) and lots more -- regal -- as she grew older, her looks deepened into beauty as her character developed? or something. but here, very pretty. no?

I don't really like this drama at all. I just watched it for the sake of Michelle. I simply find her character sad, being forced to marry a man whom she don't like at all. But I find some parts annoying and ridiculous:
1) Being a martial expert, why didn't Zhuge Liang break free from Zhou Yu's hands when he was jailed or confined? I thought he's highly skilled?! And is just because of this that ruined Xiao Qiao's happiness! She was raped and was also forced to marry a man whom she don't like at all. pissed
2) I find the story of Xiao Qiao successfully mastered the skills of eternity rather wierd. Omg, the remedy is already available during that time! Perhaps Emperor Qin Shi Huang should have heed the advice from Xiao Qiao's teacher or else he wouldn't have caused so much hassle to stay eternity. hee
3) From what I knew from the Chinese history, Xiao Qiao is just a woman with no backgrounds of martial arts. And she's also a dutiful wife behind Zhou Yu. However, the scriptwriter messed up the whole story and changed her character into a wilful and highly skilled beauty. In the past, man had the rights to "control" his wife but the story turns otherwise - Xiao Qiao is a puppeteer of Zhou Yu's emotions and decisions. He can't restrict her freedom and obliged to Xiao Qiao's every requests as he was no match for her (by threatening him that she will leave him if he dares to harm Zhuge Liang) Perhaps u may say that he gives in to her because he loves her as his wife, however, I'll just find it ridiculous that being a man of high status during that time, there's no way you can tolerate your wife being unfaithful to you and you yourself can't intervene her personal things!
