MANILA, Philippines - After the hit series "Budoy," actress Jessy Mendiola revealed that she will be doing another television series.
Tapos may magbabalik," Mendiola told members of entertainment media after a press conference for her newest endorsement "Bubbatea Licious" on Thursday.
For her new project, the actress promised that people will see a really different Mendiola.
"More on drama.
Mendiola said what is certain is that she won't be working with her "Budoy" leading man Anderson in her next series.
Asked if it's okay to do a show without Anderson as her leading man, Mendiola replied: "Okay naman po as long as I have a job. Regardless of whatever role na ibigay sa akin or kung sino ang ka-partner ko basta may trabaho masaya ako."
Mendiola said she would want to follow the footsteps of Anne Curtis and Angel Locsin, who are not dependent on a specific leading man.
"I think mas better po kung tatayo akong mag-isa. Sinasabi nila mas better daw ang may love team at nagtutulungan nakakahatak ng fan base, pero kung gusto mong maging serious actress or gusto mong tumayong mag-isa, I think it's better na iba-iba ang maka-partner mo," she explained.
In the interview, Mendiola also addressed her relationship with Anderson.
The actress said she's happy that she and Anderson are able to maintain a professional relationship.
At parang level na John Lloyd-Bea, hindi sila in real life pero kaya nilang magkasama, they can make it work.
Mendiola also reacted on reports linking Anderson to Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo.
Minsan tinatawag niya akong 'Sabel' minsan 'Buday,'" Mendiola said.
Aside from the new teleserye, Mendiola is also part of Star Cinema's upcoming film "The Reunion" with Enrique Gil as her leading man.
Jessy corrected the last part of this article. Enchong Dee is her leading man in her movie, "The Reunion".
