I had a tubal 3 years ago after the birth of my second child. I was totally willing, as I did not want more kids, and my ob did not mention that my life would never be the same again.
Since then I too have had the horrible side effects: migraines, clotting, spotting, night sweats, trouble sleeping, no sex drive whatsoever, and the list could go on forever. Who knew that the decision I made that I thought was going to make my life easier, was actually going to make it worse! I had a D & C last summer to rule out polyps, and have since then been on the birth control patch because my estrogen is in the post menopausal range ( I am 33). It makes me furious that i am on a birth control patch when i got my tubes tied so that i wouldnt have to take pills/hormones for the rest of my life...and now i have to do it anyway!
The patch didnt even correct my nonexistant estrogen, so for the past few months i have been on estratest too. (i also have no testosterone!). now i have an itchy skin rash from all of these crazy fluctuations in my hormone levels. When will it ever end?????
My ob has run out of ideas. ( of course, she doesnt admit that any of this has ANYTHING to do with the tubal) I am going to go see someone else I think....but I dont know what else can be done for me. Does anyone else have anything that is working to ease their side effects from this really bad decision to have a tubal ligation???
