What Doctors Don’t Tell You About Tubal Ligation

Thank You

I was actually searching the internet on the average pricing for getting my tubes tied when I came across this website. I don't have medical insuarance, as my husband is self employeed and we simply can't afford it. We have 6 kids and don't want anymore, however after reading the stories written here on this site, I will instead look into alternate forms of birth control, like the IUD. I was on the depo shot for a year and a half but unlike some of the women here, I didn't have a menstral cycle at all, but I did have the weight gain that was impossible to lose. I want to thank you all for sharing your stories, because if I hadn't read this, I would have never known and would have gone through with getting a tl. I am touched by all of your stories and will do my best to spread the word so that more women aren't blinded by this injustice. The sad thing is we as a society believe we can trust these doctors and that they are there to help us, to not only make the right choices for ourselves but to stay healthy in the process. It is unethical that this continues to go on. Women should be informed of this prior to signing on the dotted line. I know for a fact if more women knew about this, it wouldn't even enter their mind as a consideration. I plan on joining the site to become a member, not because I have gone through these things personally, but because thanks to your stories, I didn't. I want to do all I can to adovate for the women who have had this done as well as the women who haven't yet, to try to help prevent this from continuing on. As complicated as women's bodies are, without this happening to them I find it completely unacceptable that these doctors out there are not doing what is best for the woman in question, but what is best for their pocket book. To me this is just like medical malpractice. Doctors are supposed to take an oath to help people and their health, not hinder it as they do in this process. I can't thank you all enough for sharing with us what so many of you have already went through. Everyone is quick to say have your tubes tied, but I seriously doubt, that family, and friend in our lives knew of these side effect. I wish you all the best and hope there is some sort of solution found for your pain and discomfort. I am sincerly a new adovate of you all and this site.
