TL & Endometriosis

by

Hi everyone-

I am a newbie to the forum..but here is yet another story. I had my TL (1999) done after my second pregnancy..mainly because everyone was wanting me to have it and I thought at the time, that would be the best thing. Boy, if I had the chance to do it all over again..never in my life!

One full week after the TL I had major cramping. It would bring me to tears...could not get out of bed, could not sleep, could not walk, could not crawl...I was miserable, simply put. After that horrific week, I was fine for at least 2 years. Then, the pain started on my left side..pelvic area. Sometime went by dealing with it and finally decided that I needed to see a doc about it. My doc said we would do a lap to see what he could find, he thought it might be a hernia. After the lap surgery, he came back to tell me that everything was fine, but the only thing he found was tons of adhesions and said that was probably due to my c-sections(2of them). So, I accepted that. That was in 2002. For the next 2 years I was again miserable..pain out the wazoo. My gyno kept me on tylenol 3 pain killers and that is a whole nother story. I finally told me gyno I had enough and wanted to know what the hell was wrong. He ordered a ultrasound w/biopsy. Basically, they used the ultrasound machine to locate the problem area and then took a long tube and needle and extracted something from me which looked like nothing other than fat. 4-5 days later, he called me and said, well...you have endometriosis. He said that it was probably hereditary, but no one in my family has it. So I was like okay and again accepted that. I did ask him if there was anyway this could be from my TL and he said no!

All's he did was put me on the pill which made me feel real sick and I told him enough...I will not take the pill and he said that I was going to have to deal with it then because there was nothing else he could do. He wanted to put me on a monthly injection, but my insurance would not cover it...so I was out of luck. So, I started researching for a new gyno..found one. Now a year later, alls he will do is put me on the depo shot..didn't like the way it was making me again..feel. Oh yeah, and now has me on Femhrt because my estrogen levels are LOW! My periods have been out of control on this shot. One month..no period, next month..bleed a month long! It sucks in a nutshell. My delievering OB told me that the TL would not affect me in anyway, that it was the best thing I could do...and that I will be happy with it...WRONG!

I am thinking of having the FRS. It seems as though it might help. I am hopeing. Just dont know how I am going to pay for it, Sorry this is so long to read, but had to vent and get my story out there.

Thanks...Amanda
