What Doctors Don’t Tell You About Tubal Ligation

Have a tubal scheduled for 2/17/06-changed my mind after reading this information

by Regina

I am so thankful that I decided to get some information on Tubal Ligations. I have NEVER heard of any of the possible side effects or drawbacks. I am scheduled to have a tubal in 5 more days and wanted to find out just how long I would feel bad after the procedure. I was horrified to read about PTLS. I am a breastfeeding mother of a 10 month old who refuses solid food and refuses a bottle. I was never told about the possibility of significantly decreased milk supply. I have suffered from depression in the past and was never told of the possibility of depression. I already suffer once a month with painful, heavy, long lasting periods. I am SO,SO,SO thankful that I found this web site in time to cancel the procedure. I am outraged that I came so close to having this done without not even the slightest mention from my ob/gyn about any "possible" side effects. It should be a crime. It is definately wise to "self inform" yourself. I have always just "trusted" whatever doctors tell me. Now, I need to come up with another form of birth control. I am a 36 year who smokes. (I know, just quit smoking). I have four (4) children 12,6,5,10 months. I need something that is always in place. Not, a "use as needed" birth control. Any suggestions? THANK YOU TO THIS WEBSITE
