All you ladies listen!!!

First of all. If you need a TL because of a life or death situation and it is your only option, then do it! But for all you young ladies that are in child-bearing years,and are doing it for birth control, do not do it! I had a TL at the age of 36. Big mistake! TL is female sterilization. Just think about that, female sterilization. Very few women who have a TL are fine and never have problems after. But most of the women I know who had a TL, they have never been the same. Heavy periods, No periods(early menopause), weight gain, pain, mood swings and variety of other problems soon after TL. I also think that some young women just jump into it and have a TL because they are desperate for some form of birth control. For myself, I knew I was done having children and it seem to be a good option.I was pushed to this decision because my 3rd child was a surprise. If I had this forum before I had my TL, it would have made me stop and think of the possible life-long side effects. TL put me into early menopause.After a couple of years of talking with my doctor about why I did not get my period anymore for no apparent reason,she finally admitted it was most likely caused by TL. Yes, I am a little upset.I am upset with the fact that I thought my doctor would tell me about problems associated with TL before I had it done.And that I did not investigate TL my self.One thing that is interesting, is that if they called the procedure female sterilization instead of Tubal Ligation I never would have had it done!
