What Doctors Don’t Tell You About Tubal Ligation

I'm crying into my keyboard - this is me!

by Steph

I didn't even know this existed until just I did a google search "tubal ligation side effects".

I had TL after my 2nd was born in December 05. Since then, I have had hot-flashes (I thought I was starting peri menopause), chills, extreme irritability, mood swings, sudden tears, sleep problems, horrendously heavy periods, loss of libido, anxiety, ANGER, depression, tears (almost daily), memory lapses, sore muscles, increased headaches -- sometimes wake me up in the middle of the night in severity, and most noticeably, the electric shock feelings under my skin, especially in my extremities. More too, but you don't need to read about that.

All of this to say I'm SO ANGRY at my OB! He NEVER mentioned any of this! My husband SPECIFICALLY asked him if there was any hormonal effect related to mood issues. We were very specific on that count before I signed the paperwork!!!!

I am hoping this will now be a starting point with my doctor, but I'm a bit confused about treatment. I don't really want to be on hormones again -- that was the main reason for the TL as opposed to going back to BCPs.
