I have only read a few of these entries and already I am crying. I had my TL two years ago. My doctor told me it was medically necessary since I had had three c-sections and he found a bulge in my uterus membranes with the last one. My husband and I both always wanted a large family, but with this news figured we were done (we have three boys). My symptoms stated about 6 months after the TL. It started with irregular periods. My cycle has ALWAYS been regular. I'm so regular you can set a clock by me. But my cycles began to fluctuate between 20 and 40 days!! I went to my OB, he told me all I needed was BC, which helped get me back on track, but then the other symptoms started. I as well have bad mood swings, stabbing pain where my ovaries are, usually on the right side. They come AFTER my cycle has ended. My cramps are not horrible, but enough that I have to take something for them, usually during the middle days. I also began passing clots about 6-8 months ago. Extreme fatigue, some dizziness, all of the symptoms I see described by other women. When I was doing research for a reverse TL, I started seeing sites about these symptoms, but had not heard of PTLS until now. I signed a release before the tubal, (it was done during the c-section), but now I want to do more research to find out if there is any relief or what needs to be done. Someone needs to do a stoy about this, Oprah, someone!! We all need to band together so attention can be brought to this. I'm sure that for everyone of me who posts to a site like this there are probably 20 more who don't and have been told "it's all in your head." So they suffer. Who knows? Women have been probably been suffering for years!! I'm sorry this is so long, but I feel angry and disappointed in myself for signing that. Had I been fully informed of all the side effects (not to mention the feelings of regret) then I would have NEVER done it.
