What Doctors Don’t Tell You About Tubal Ligation

Confused after Dr's visit

by Maria

I am 38. About 6-8 months after my tubal, which is also about 3 months after I weaned my last baby---my periods started to be "OFF". My periods were like clock work..27-28 days. Now they are 24 days, 33 days....etc. I used to have an off month once in awhile...but I am not getting back on track. It's been 8 months. Also my periods are shorter--like 2 days. One HEAVY for me day...then practically nothing. I am also feeling ovulation pain. Worse than before. A few months ago depression started. Most severe right before my period. I had no desire for anything/sex/things I enjoyed...etc. Didn't want to leave the house. Also, anxiety, mood swings, worry...a lot of emotional issues. Forgetful. I do get hot flushes...they come and go. Sinus issues...lot of phlegm going down the back of my throat. I started to get upset stomach, digestive issues--IBS-like (my mom had it). Then I got nausea that wouldn't go away, so I went to the GP. She gave me Zantac for the nausea/sour stomach--heart burn. I spoke to her briefly about possibly being menopause. My mom started menopause at 42--and her sisters and mom about the same time. The Dr seemed to dismiss that, focused more on the sour stomach and my depression, prescribed me something for the depression--which I did not take. And she did say that if these symptoms occured within the first 6 months after my tubal, it would have been more related to the tubal--but seem to have dismissed the fact that early menopause runs in my family. I am going to discuss this with my OB in June...but I want to know if that is true with all of you. Did your symptoms start immediately after your tubal? Did anyone have symptoms creep up on your months later? Thanks in advance.
