That women should not be sterilized who are going through any type of depression, or stress. I was pushed into sterilization after the birth of my last child. I was also not told that I could go further into depression, after the surgery, that it would mess up my hormones, could cause endometriosis, pain in my ovaries and more. My last child was a girl, full term but had a birth defect that ultimately took her life. I was preconsumed with her illness and didn't really read the paperwork I was given and the nurse gave me a quick over view of what was on it. She told me I should have this done because I didn't want to go through this again. I had other choices of birth control but this was the best one, I wouldn't have to worry about a shot, taking a pill or trying to keep up with maintaining them on time. I feel as if they used my heart break, depression and knowing that I really didn't have alot of time on hand then to push me into having this procedure done. In and out done the next day I would be back at the hospital with my baby. Since then I have had pain in my ovaries, outbursts of anger for no good reason, hot flashes, tired all the time, some days I just cant get it together along with other problems. I have other children and family who have suffered every day with me. If I had only known or had understood what was going to happen as a result of this surgery, I would have kept on with the shot. Please make it so no other woman can have this done who does not fully understand what is going to happen to her by having this done.
