I will be attending an event by another watch brand next week...

...and as I no longer own any watches from that brand, I was thinking of going with my Simplicity, which is what I normally do when I need netural territory.

But then again I got thinking, and I decided that I should say "what the heck" and just go with a super-rare piece, such as my Roth minute repeater, which as one of three would definitely fit the bill! (Pictures here.)

What do you think?

Hi Alberto...

For my own pleasure I would say the DR minute repeater, a watch that I've never seen.

And DR the company is a close neighbour to those you're about to visit (Philippe Dufour too, but maybe less)!

See you

Now, that IS a good point...

...indeed worth considering. Maybe one on each wrist?

Well one for each wrist is reasonable

and I would love to see my DR meet yours.
But Simplicity wins hands down, of course

LOL! I love these watch obssessed dilemmas!

June 22 2006, 7:00 AM

All very fine reasons for each, why not bring both and switch (or is that swatch? new verb: to simultaneously wear multiple watches, as in: I'm swatching both the Dufour and Roth tonight ) during the evening?

Mohamed, great pun - "wins hands down" - but what if it is 12 o'clock, "hands up?"

LOL!

Given the brand in question...

...I am not sure that "swatching" over the course of the evening would be very much appreciated!!! Tu sais, il y aura du Riche Monde là bas...

LOL!

Hey, now, you know...

June 22 2006, 3:46 PM

Indeed, the "rich world" is big enough to avoid such petty inter-group rivalries, non?

Now, how to get them to accept the new word, "swatching..."

Give YM my best.

Have fun!

TM

The ax has fallen...

...and the final choice was not the minute repeater. Nor the Dufour.

Anyone care to venture a guess? The answer will come on Friday.

Cheers

Well Alberto,

June 26 2006, 7:23 AM

I think the Double face tourbillon would be a very nice option.
