im not too hot on modern russian land technology, only their planes. but i doubt this vehicle could out-do the M1 or Challenger2. whats so good about it?

All western tank with 105mm and 120mm can fire missiles.
Israel manufacture the LAHAT missiles that can fire form any western 105 and 120mm.
Firing missiles form thank have advantage and disadvantage.
The cost , each one cost ~$25,000 while regular ammunition price is very low.
On the other hand , missiles(the LAHAT for example) can shot down also
helicopter and as u said it have better range.
It also make the fire control system irrelevant and save $500,000 - $800,000
The Russians decided to equip each tank (dont now the model) with 4 missiles.

it would be a little impractical to equip every tank with a competant SAM system... its best to keep them as seperate units with the mobility to keep up and around with tanks on the battlefield.
i mean, the old SA2 missiles were the size of telegraph poles... imagine having one of them stuck on your turret...

Well, my friend who used to be a tank commander (he was a Chieftain commander), told me that it is very easy for all modern tanks to be converted to firing Missiles from their guns, he said all you need is to have a powerful fans to clear away the smoke.

U have to design the missile in a way that it could hold the pressure in the gun.

Well, actually, you don't need to design any special missile, my friend told me that most anti tank missiles would easily fit into a tank barrel, and what is done is that they put an initial boosting charge that shoots the missile for about 10 meters, then the missile engine kicks in! My friend was saying that Iran's T-72 fleet has this capability and the missiles are very accurately guided to their targets by a laser designator!
Also, Iran produces many different types of cars, and now an old model is being replaced by new ones, nothing unusual about that! It still doesn't do any damage to Iran as being the Middle East's largest Car producers, as well as largest tractor prouder, and Bus producer, as well has being the Middle East’s largest steel and Aluminium producer, as well as being the Middle East's Largest Personal Computer producer..... the list can go of for a long time! I don't see what the Jews have any thing to gloat about, seeing how their economy is actually kept afloat by the generosity of the U.S taxpayer! LOL

the russkie tank ahs great armor, engine and gun. the rangefinder is especially good. it can also be used in a variety of situations.
Answering your question of putting SAMs on tanks, i do not find it unbelievable. even something like arming stingers on a tank would save a huge amount. an example. In the Gulf War, americans used low flying bombers to do 'tank-plinking' this was effective becasue they ahd no anti air resistance against these swards of planes. just arming a few tanks would this would in theory save as much as your tank force. its worth it. they are not all that big, even a man-portable one would to just fine.

But any way, my fried was a Chieftain tank commander, and I think I will believe him over an Israeli guy, who fantasizes about how good and powerful his country is!
Also, maybe a 1/3 of all Iranian cars are Paykan, but 100% are made in Iran! Its because we made every thing we needed at home that we have the largest industries in the Middle East, including the largest car industry.
All the old cars are also being replaced with these beauties that are all Iranian designed and made!
