I gree a broken Russia is good for everyone.

Russia is a finished case.

Russia may grow, but it's glory of USSR is gone forever.

EU is coming, China is rising (already 5 times stronger in GDP, military will outclass Russia very soon), USA is still there, Russia has no way to go.

China pushing Russia at East.
EU pushing Russia at West.
USA pushing Russia at South.

This bear has no way out.

I see your point, mainly that there is a pincer movement on Russia.  Russia will have some tough choices to make and they will have to choose between three blocs: EU, USA and China.  I think Russia will end up choosing the EU for economic ties but China for military ties, but Russia will stay independant politically.  The southern flank Russia can take care of, in fact they are considering a declaration of war against Georgia for its support of Chechens. 

Nevertheless, the former Soviet republics are increasingly regretting their decision to leave the USSR and hence considering rejoining Russia in some sort of union.  And if Russia can stabalise its demographics and get strong population growth, with all that land nobody should doubt Russia's ability to be strong again.

Russia will be stronger compared to Russia now. But compared to other big guys like EU, China, USA, Russia will always be a weak man.

What Russia now has is merely a bit military tech, their economy/cival tech is in no way a match to EU, USA, Japan etc. And this military advantage is only in comparsion with China, India, but China will overtake Russia in military tech in no more than 20 years.

I don't think Russia will be very significant in world stage in any future time.

I bet that the countries closest to The West countries will most likely join NATO in a act of self protection.

I can see this happening...This would be good and bad but these newly joined countries will have to submit to NATO standards.. Maybe even West/East Military technologies will be not far.

A Strong Russia is the best for this world.RUssia has always saved Europes, if not all this world's ass many many times....
