The Turks focussed on the wrong event. They won the plan negotiations, but forgot they had to sell the plan to the Greek Cypriots! The Greek Cypriots voted "No" and enter the EU today as full members. The Turk Cypriots are left out in the cold.
In retrospect, making the Annan plan so one-sided by installing 11 last minute demands by the Turks wasn't so smart! As always, Turks are penny-wise and Pound foolish.
Oh, by the way, as a full EU member Cyprus can VETO Turkish accession to the EU now. Which they will if the Turks don't pull their army off the island. Something else the Turks forgot to consider. Whoops!!

If they allow to Turkey to be full member of EU then Christians countries(in
EU of course) will be flooded with turkish muslims.
If they will reject them they will send Turkey to the radical Islam, and
turkish will continue to immigrate to EU but by smaller numbers.
They will also create hatred.
So in any case EU is going to lose here.

I'm going to make a prediction that Turkey will never see EU accession. They bring too many problems with them and they've never really accepted what being a european nations really means. Just listen to their Foreign Minister if you want to really understand Turkey. He's a friggin NAZI!

I dont think 80,000,000 potential immigrants for italy,germany,france,england,netherlands and the rest of the Euros therefore i dont think Europeans will be having a loss at this point...
If Big Turkey had a strong economy then Yes, but with the 65% inflation rate and poverty of today then NO.And Europe can wait till Turkey learns what European means ....

The problem for EU countries (although they will not admit it) is that Turkey
is muslims country.
There is panic in some EU countries because of the the demographic problems
that the muslims cause.
Last week i read in Newsweek that by 2050 the majority of the people in
school age in Netherlands will be muslim.
The situation in other EU countries is similar, and it make them terrified.

Liberal or not is not the problem, it is more issue of culture(imo).
The problem in the Islam today is that lot of mulims are not willing to
accept people with difference believe, people who think different from them,
and trying to impose their opinions.

The Ottoman empire peaked in the 1400's. Since then it's been all downhill. Expect more of the same until the Turkish government reduces the military influence and accepts european norms on behavior.
