Israel’s defense industries account for 17% of total Israeli exports, excluding diamonds.
Israeli defense industries account for 10% to the world’s total defense exports. The defense industries employ 131,000 workers 10% of all Israel’s industrial workers. Defense subcontractors and service providers employ a further 30,000 workers, Minister of Defense Shaul Mofaz said today on the even of Defense Industries Day, which will be celebrated tomorrow at the Israel Trade Fairs and Convention Center in Tel Aviv.
Mofaz added that Israel’s defense industries accounted for 17% of total Israeli exports, excluding diamonds.
Mofaz stated, “The defense industries constitute Israel’s future strategic infrastructure; their capabilities must be preserved and strengthened. Continued growth in defense industries provides unique solutions to building the Israel Defense Forces’ strength, and constitutes one of the economies important growth engines.”
