Some have speculated that Iranian armed forces are training heaviliy to fight off a joint US/Israel invasion, specifically on its western flanks. (I do not speak Farsi so if somebody could give a summary of what was said that would be greatly appreciated.)  The question becomes: can Iran successfully defend itself?  And at what cost?

However the only thing that can save Iran is a thorough re-organization and the realzation that in any Conflict Iran must move the war rapidly into the attackers terratory.

Iran Must not be content to fight a defensive war in the face of overwealming air superiority

Iranian strategic rocket forces must either adopt bigger warheads (and thus more) or be made more accurate during the war these must be husbanded and fired at areas of logistic support.

LOL, those are not Pasdaran or IRGC, they are actually "BASIJIS", who are volunteers, and they were used extensively during the war, even though they didn't have any serious training. Seems like their training has improved a little since then, these were the guys who would volunteer to run over mines so that others can get through!!

The US, The EU or anyother major power will not conduct any military operations against Iran in 50 years from now....

War with Iran isn't exactly the type of war the conservatives in Washington and Lodnon are looking for...Iran can simply disrupt the flow of oil in the Persian gulf states by mining the strait of Hormoz(Iran has rising water mines that are very accurate and very hard to dismantle.) add to that the anti-ship missile capabilities which can hit almost every passing oil tanker in the Persian gulf. plus Iran can target oil installations throughout the region with its solid and liquid rocket arsenal. Moreover,Iran has a wide and idle terrorist network throughout the world something Saddam lacked. If you know a little history you would remember that just after the revoloution in Iran there were Islamic movements throughout the region notably the Hizbullah in Saudi(which Alqaida was a branch of) Turkey and Lebonan.

Believe it or not...Right now Iran is a superpower in the region...And the US wouldnt start a war with a regional superpower over nuclear capability...any war with Iran is simply not cost effective.
